1. The service

MR ELEPHANT operates a platform that lets you rent a smart-lock beach box at participating venues for a one-day flat fee, paid online. The venue owns the physical box and is responsible for its upkeep.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent / guardian, to create an account and pay for a rental.

3. Rental terms

• A rental is valid until midnight (local time) on the day of purchase.
• The PIN you choose is personal — keep it secret. We are not liable for items lost because the PIN was shared.
• The venue may cap maximum item value, refuse hazardous items and inspect boxes for safety reasons.

4. Payments & refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are at the venue's discretion; contact them first. We can issue a refund on the venue's behalf when the lock fails to open through no fault of yours.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to tamper with the lock, attempt to bypass payment, or use the box to store anything illegal. We may suspend accounts that breach these rules without refund.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our liability for any single rental is capped at the amount you paid for it. The venue remains responsible for damage caused by faulty hardware.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be communicated by email.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the venue's country. Disputes may be brought before the consumer-protection body of your country of residence.
